2021 AAO Meeting is a wrap!

Dr. Jusino and the All Star Team attended the 2021 AAO (American Association of Orthodontists) Meeting virtually and invested many hours over three days acquiring continuing education credits.

We are so proud of our Finance Coordinator Judy who was recognized as the First Recipient of the AAO Staff Achievement Award!

Members of the All Star Team are obligated to satisfy 24 credit hours of continuing education for renewal of their SOA (Specialized Orthodontic Assistant- highest distinction available to staff) Certification.  My licenses (Dental, Specialty and Pharmaceutical) are up for renewal in August and require 60 credit hours of continuing education.

I am proud to report everyone has surpassed necessary requirements for renewal of certifications and licenses.  At Dr. Jusino's office, we recognize the value associated with educational opportunities, which provide personal growth and development.  We will never stop learning - Knowledge is power!

2021 AAO Meeting -Continuing Education for Dr. Jusino and the All Star Team

Dr. Jusino and the All Star Team will be busy attending the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) annual meeting through Monday, June 28th.  Patient appointments will resume on Tuesday, June 29th.

Text messages to the office will be monitored- (248) 476-3000

Emergency needs can be directed to Dr. Jusino- (586) 856-6660

E-Mails to the office will be monitored- DrJusino@DrJusino.com

Originally scheduled for Boston, MA; the AAO elected to cancel in person attendance due to continuing Covid restrictions affecting Boston.  The meeting will be conducted virtually, similar to last year's.

We are excited to witness our Finance Coordinator Judy finally receive the "First AAO Orthodontic Staff Achievement Award."  This prestigious award was scheduled to be presented to Judy last year at the AAO meeting in Atlanta, GA.  The arrival of Covid affected the agenda of the 2020 AAO meeting and the curriculum was modified to address appropriate responses to the pandemic.

I am so proud of Judy and there is no one in the orthodontic profession more deserving of this inspiring honor!  Judy will be presented the AAO Orthodontic Staff Achievement Award on Saturday, June 26th and the event will be witnessed by members of the AAO attending the meeting virtually from around the world!

In a future addition to the office BLOG I will share information gained from our continuing education.

I am excited to share photographs of a return to some of the "pre-Covid" office activities, such as decorating for holidays...

Gratefully yours,

Judy is the best when it comes to making a technical subject like OSHA easy to understand and comply with, don't you agree?

Spring Cleaning 2021 is a Wrap!

                             Office is clean and tidy!

Dear Parents and Patients,

Each Spring, the office is given a thorough cleaning.  We reserve a week without patient appointments to perform necessary maintenance.  Professionals are employed to strip and wax vinyl flooring, clean carpet, tile, grout and chairs.  Every nook and corner of the office receives attention.  Spring cleaning 2021 took place last week and the results are beautiful!

A year ago, in addition to the usual details; Spring maintenance addressed necessary changes imposed by Covid-19.  Business systems affecting scheduling, social distancing, entering and exiting the building, etc., were evaluated and modified.  Office technology was evaluated and enhanced.  Staff were provided laptops or I-Pads for home use and began working remotely to assist the transition to "Post Covid-19" patient care.  Remote working continues and staff respond to text messages and emails during "non-working" patient hours.

Covid-19 demanded an office "reset," and although we are hopeful for a return to the former "open concept" of welcoming; for now we remain vigilant and do not intend to modify existing protocols.  The practice of Universal Precautions (every patient is treated as potentially contagious) remains integral to patient care and treatment.

I am proud of the All Star Team's dedication to continuing education, training and development.  Every member of my staff is SOA Certified (Specialized Orthodontic Assistant)- the highest certification available to staff through the AAO- (American Association of Orthodontists).

We are working hard behind the scenes to provide a safe experience for those you hold most dear because WE CARE.  Thank you for choosing my practice for the orthodontic needs of your family, serving you is a privilege I do not take for granted.

Merry Christmas!

Dear Parents and Patients,

From our practice to your home, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and an exceptionally healthy New Year.  May your holidays be spent with those you love and may your home be filled with laughter and joy.  We are looking forward to time spent with loved ones resting and relaxing.  No one is traveling far and our family gatherings will be small.

I want to express my gratitude and appreciation for your patience and assistance as we worked together to navigate the challenges of Covid-19.  In many ways, our practice experienced a reset, which resulted in greater cross-training of staff and improved efficiency.  Someone wise once said, "Necessity is the mother of invention," and 2020 was definitely a year of invention for our practice.

During our Christmas luncheon today, we took turns acknowledging areas of personal growth and development the demands of Covid-19 have produced within us.  Reflecting and sharing lent to renewed vigor and hope as we look forward to 2021.  Each member of the team expressed gratitude for the privilege of serving wonderful families who have chosen our practice for their orthodontic care.

As we embrace a New Year of possibilities, be assured of our ongoing commitment to provide the very best orthodontic treatment in an office focused on your safety and concern.  And, while we are at it; let's have some fun!
